The Brief
Sacoor Brothers approached GS Productions with the objective of finding a skilled photographer for their campaign in Cape Town. The client wanted someone who could capture the essence of their brand while utilizing the unique backdrop and natural lighting of the city. We were entrusted with the task of recommending a photographer who could meet these requirements and deliver exceptional results.
The Solution
Gavin Schneider immediately thought of Matthew Brookes as the perfect fit for Sacoor Brothers’ campaign in Cape Town. Brookes, a talented photographer, had been raised in South Africa and had a close connection with Gavin since the early 90s. In fact, Gavin had even lent his cameras to Brookes when he was just starting out.
Despite Brookes’ current status as one of the most sought-after celebrities and fashion photographers in the world, GS Productions approached him with the opportunity. Recognizing the significance of the project and his deep connection to Cape Town, Brookes agreed to be a part of it.
The 3-day shoot took place at a magnificent house located in Constantia. Brookes immediately fell in love with the location, praising its exceptional natural lighting, which he considered one of the best he had ever worked with. With his expertise, Brookes effortlessly captured the spirit of the Sacoor Brothers’ brand, blending it harmoniously with the captivating landscapes and unique atmosphere of Cape Town.
The Result
The production turned out to be a success. As a testament to the fruitful collaboration and the remarkable outcome, Sacoor Brothers decided to return to Cape Town the following year for another campaign, once again with Matthew Brookes as their chosen photographer.
