Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all visitors/customers (hereinafter referred to as “Users”) to GS Productions (Pty) Ltd’s (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) website or persons who have ordered the goods or services that the company provides. The purpose of this policy is to describe the way that the company collects, stores, uses, and protects information that can be associated with users or another specific natural or juristic person and can be used to identify the user or that other person. By accepting this policy, users are deemed to have read, understood, accepted, and agreed to be bound by all of its terms.

Personal information includes:

• optional information provided voluntarily.

But excludes:

• information that has been made anonymous so that it does not identify a specific person;

• information that users have provided voluntarily in an open, public environment or forum including any blog, chat room, community, classifieds, or discussion board (because the information has been disclosed in a public forum, it is no longer confidential and does not constitute personal information subject to protection under this policy).

2. From browser

The company automatically receives and records Internet usage information on our server logs from the user’s browser, such as the user’s Internet Protocol address (IP address), browsing habits, click patterns, version of software installed, system type, screen resolutions, colour capabilities, plug-ins, language settings, cookie preferences, search engine keywords, JavaScript enablement, the content and pages that the user accesses on the website, and the dates and times that the website is visited, paths taken, and time spent on sites and pages within the website (usage information). Please note that other websites visited before entering the company’s website might place personal information within the user’s URL during a visit to it, and the company has no control over such websites. Accordingly, a subsequent website that collects URL information may log some personal information.  

3. Cookies

The company uses cookies on its website where they are required for particular features to work. The cookies also make use of tracking cookies to track and analyse website usage. The cookies do not collect any personal information about data subjects.

4. Links to Social Networking Services

The company uses social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook to communicate with the public. When users communicate with the company through these services, those social networking services may collect personal information for its own purposes. These services may also track the user’s use of the company’s website on those pages where their links are displayed. If a user is logged in to those services while using the company’s website, their tracking will be associated with the user’s profile with those service providers. These services have their own privacy policies which are independent of the privacy policy and practices of the company.

Users may only send us their own personal information or the information of another data subject where they have permission to do so.

The company will only use personal information that the user provides through this website for the purposes for which the user provided it and to fulfil its obligations to the user. The company will obtain the user’s consent to collect personal information:

Right to access accurate up to date personal information

The company will provide users with access to any personal information that the company holds about the user. Users have the right to request access to their personal information. The company will try to keep the personal information collected as accurate, complete, and up to date as is necessary for the purposes defined in this policy. Users are able to review and update any personal information that the company holds by emailing or phoning the information officer. In order to safeguard personal information, the company will take steps to verify the user’s identity before granting access to the personal information.

Retention

The company will only retain user personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes explicitly set out in this policy, unless:

• retention of the record is required or authorised by law; or
• the user has consented to the retention of the record.

During the period of retention, the company will continue to abide by our non-disclosure obligations and will not share or sell user’s personal information. The company may retain user personal information in physical or electronic records at the company’s discretion.

Third-party Access

The company will not make user personal information available to any third party unless this is necessary for the purpose for which the user provided the information. The company will only disclose personal information to third parties in limited circumstances where authorised by POPIA.

7. Site improvement

The company may use personal information for the purposes of administering and improving the site, improving services, or for communication with the user. The personal information users provide may be shared with operators to the extent that it is necessary for them to administer and improve the website on the company’s behalf.

8. Messages and updates

The company may send administrative messages and email updates to users about the website.

9. No selling

The company will not sell personal information. No personal information will be disclosed to anyone except as provided in this privacy policy.

The company may need to disclose personal information to its employees that require personal information to do their jobs. These include our responsible management, human resources, accounting, audit, compliance, information technology, or other personnel.

Should the company undergo a change in ownership, or a merger with, acquisition by, or sale of assets to, another entity, the company may assign its rights to the personal information it processes to a successor, purchaser, or separate entity. The company will disclose the transfer on the website. If users are concerned about their personal information migrating to a new owner, they may request the company to delete such personal information.

12. Security

The company takes the security of personal information very seriously and will always do its best to comply with applicable data protection laws. Our hosting company will host our website in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced security measures to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. The Company authorises access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfil their job responsibilities.

13. Limitation

We are not responsible for, give no warranties, nor make any representations in respect of the privacy policies or practices of linked or any third-party websites.
